Tom, those Gigabit switches are also useful for distributed rendering farms. You can have all your computers running blender 3D and share the load between the master server and the other secondary servers. There’s a Linux program that works with Blender 3D that does exactly that called FarmerJoe. It’ll definitely reduce your 3D rendering times and is a great way to earn a secondary income by dabbling in 3D.
