Linksys WES610N Wireless N Entertainment Bridge Unboxing & First Look Linus Tech Tips

Have you ever wished that instead of adding wireless interface cards to all of the devices in a room, you could just use one wireless network device, and then branch out via ethernet to everything else? Well now you can!

Will it also act as a accesspoint?

Robbie Rob Rob says:

I have a really big problem that i want a answer too:) is there a way to use this wireless bridge also as a wireless access point at the same time? I dont want to use 2 devices to also have the wireless function. The scenario: I have a wireless dsl routermodem in one room, and i want to use another “wireless router” in another room. The thing is that i want the dsl routermodem to talk wireless to the other router and still use all it’s functions (wireless and lan). Can anyone help?

Mathew Ward says:

I was told this would work fine with VOIP telephones. Can you confirm this?

Since I can’t connect directly with my router because it’s on a pc in another room, in order to connect my VOIP phone to the internet I have to either drill a whole in the floor and hide another network cable and connect to my computer that way OR do what I want to do and connect wirelessly to my pc and VOIP phone with something like this.

George says:

can I connect this bridge to an AP and if so, how do I set it up. I have been trying and having network problems.

Bibiz99944x says:

I’ve actually ran 5 cat6 cables and 1 coax to each room in my house. It’s far more fast, reliable and secure than wifi that get killed when the microwave is running or by putting the bridge too close or behind the TV.
