Hipshot Kickass! Bridge Demo – Just Bass It – Bryan Abel

It’s no secret that we at Just Bass It LOVE Hipshot products and they adorn all of our personal basses so given the opportunity to review some of their new releases is awesome!! Introducing the new HipShot Kickass Bass Bridge!!

Lovingly dedicated to the granddaddy of high mass bridges, Hipshot® is proud to offer the KickAss™ Bass Bridge. We spent years plus countless versions ensuring that this ‘tribute’ would possess the soul of the original without being a copy. The KickAss™ features the following.

Our unique saddle design features pre notched inserts (no filing required). These inserts allow you to easily adjust your string spacing from a narrow .687″ (17.5mm) to a wide .800″ (20mm) and anywhere in between!
Comes standard with brass saddle inserts which emphasize the fundamental tone and give your bass a mellow sound. Extra brass or stainless steel inserts can be purchased here!
The KickAss™ mounts on a typical 5 hole bass configuration and features recessed string ball holes for a sleeker, sexier look.
Stainless steel saddle inserts are avaliable. Stainless Steel emphasizes the harmonic overtone series and gives your bass a brighter sound.

Richard C Autorina says:

The Hipshot is brighter

Ivan Ramirez says:

Hey man, Do you think it will fit on a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass? I want to upgrade that thing completely…

Tebi Ferreyra says:

If you had to describe this bridge in 2 or 3 words, what would you say? (excuse my english)

Ronny OnBass says:

Nice… those MTD Kingston bridges are cheaply made crap! I changed mine to a KSM bridge.

jim claypool says:

i heard no difference!

Paul Traynor says:

Nice demo

Andy Irvine says:

Cool demo Brian, I have one on my Nino Valenti custom bass, Killer bridge. I have Hipshot bridges and tuners on a whole bunch of my instruments and for certain consider them the best in the biz.

Thomas Barker says:

Does this bridge add weight to the bass

Anthony says:

Bass sounds brighter with the Hipshot bridge.  I prefer the Hipshot A bridge.  I like being able to adjust the spacing from the top of the saddle rather than the front.  I had an ABM bridge with the Allen screw on the front of saddle, like the Kickass, and did no care for it.

ThunderBassist Jay says:

It’s more like I hear new strings versus strings that have been on for a while.

Dannie Dijon says:

Wow. This bridge is pretty badass.

Pablo Cavallo says:

Good demo. Not necessarily an “improvement” over the stock bridge in terms of tone.

S Sam says:

I put one on my MIM Fender Jazz bass.. easy installation and set up.

chris storrier says:

I like this…will maybe put one on my Jazz if it is an exact fit & the price is not crazy….we get charged a sh**load in the UK for anything from USA…Any idea what ballpark price in £’s ?……
